TEK.village / Oulu2026 Project
TEK.VILLAGE was the last project by Translation Flowers Collective organized for Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture.
TEK.village was created as e mentoring program that resulted in a site-specific outdoor exhibition that transformed Oulu’s Technology Village into an exhibition site through creative collaborative interventions by Finnish based artists and Serbian art students.
Transformed from a bustling hub of technological development by day to a space reclaimed by more-than-human life at night, Technology Village offered both conceptual and spatial playground for artist takeover. We sought to illuminate the unused potential of this unique environment and re-envision what interconnecting practices, knowledge, and technologies can bring about for our planetary well-being. These ephemeral site-specific interventions bridged the gap between technology, art and nature bringing the local technological development and creative innovations closer to local communities.
