Practice-based session I: Transformative relations – intertidal moment
EcoSomatic protocols of Kinship emerged as part of the BioArt Forum - Practice based session program I drafted for it.
As an experiential walk around the Danube shore it took participants to Bećarac for a speculative fabulation, tea meditation, and some movement. Through breathing, touching, and proprioceptive movement participants were repositioning familiar body movements as observational tools. Together we explored Technologies of the self as a new way of mapping and gathering experiential samples from the environment. Using local birch bark brewed as tea we were re-connecting with our more-than-human ancestors on a biological level, highlighting intertidal interconnectedness.
This methodology, grounded in embodied and tacit knowledge practices, recontextualizes ancestral approaches to multispecies well-being through contemporary philosophy and art. As part of her PhD research,
EcoSomatic protocols of Kinship continue to transform and explore the intertwining interdependence of species in our Anthropocentric AI Age.
The whole program is part of the Bio Awaking Project.
