Somatic algorithm

 

The somatic algorithm is a game of movement, interpretation and translation of language both human and non human-code as a pervasive mediator of our everyday life.

In the position of an instructional work that takes the form of a pseudo code, the work calls for choreographed movement of the body through space, reading and writing the algorithm of the body. This instructional choreography of experience aims to engage visitors in a bodily exploration of the notion of algorithm and the materiality behind these seemingly immaterial technological infrastructures. The work is a gateway to other ways of knowing such as knowledge of the body and senses thus triggering  unlearning mode within the readers/walkers from the dominant technological paradigm of AI.
